Hey guys been watching this site for years now and decided to post up my pride and joy.
So i'm a 27 year old Army Firefighter and bought a house almost a year ago now. Always wanted a shed as i love working on bikes and cars and have never had a garage.
Anyway, the new house came with a 6m x 6m steel titan garage. It was bare bones with no lights and one power point (to run the pump for the water tank.) It may be small but a 6m x 2.7m extension is planned for the rear later on. The water pump is housed in the shed but is only used for one garden tap on the back of the house.
So i picked up a bargain with some Tru Dec flooring off ebay for $300 and almost enough to cover the whole floor. (Most of the stuff in USA like racedeck etc wasnt available in Aust then)
Then it was time to build the main benches and some storage. The bench and shelving was built using seconds hardwood with every join bolted and bolted to the wall. The top is seconds ironbark in tongue and groove which is finished in clear laquer and trimmed in 20mm x 20mm aluminium angle on the edges (still have to instal this). All the other surfaces like doors, shelves etc are 14mm MDF because it was cheap. The bench was designed to be large enough to hold a motorcycle motor sideways when on a stand and the large cut out is for a 42" roll cab to sneak in. On top is some Treston electrical parts cabinets which was an ebay purchase for $20 each, so i grabbed 6 to use for bolts/nuts/hardware etc.
Overhead cabinets right now are just three kincrome wall cabinets bolted to the wall on some structural pine.
ELectrical was upgraded with its own subpanel, 4 double 10 amp power points and 2 single 15 amp power points. Lighting is restricted to 2 single fluro lights over the work bench and one single fluro in the centre of the shed. This needs to change soon.
So thats part 1. Part 2 will be updated soon but unfortunatly the weather is terrible and flooding and with my lack of lighting it makes it difficult to take photos.
Stay tuned.
Cheers,
Marc
