Finally joined this forum after lurking forever, I have been renovating my 2 car garage. We moved into the house about a year ago, the home was built in 1966.

First thing was to build a large workbench along one wall and one that is high off the ground.

The water heater is in the garage and was in terrible shape, so I had a plumber install a new one and clean up the piping. We also elevated the unit, the old one was directly on the slab.

2nd thing was was to relocate and rewire the breaker box. I also had some new outlets installed outside.

Next up was gable fan, the attic and garage is stupid hot...I measured 135 degrees in the attic. I just learned about "radiant barrier" and feel optimistic about the stuff, I will be ordering some very soon. Cooling the attic and garage is high priority.

The drywall is in terrible shape, so I have been pulling it out and trying to decide to replace myself or hire a contractor. I was thinking about a metal ceiling but still undecided. I'll post some pics soon.
