Hi folks,
I'm looking for a milling machine. Specifically, I am looking for a Deckel FP2 Mill, or an Aciera F4, or really any fairly small toolroom universal european style milling machine in Melbourne, or the state of Victoria, or if it comes to it, anywhere in Australia.
I know that FP2's are as rare as rocking horse poop, but if anyone has seen one selling at a machinery sales shop or is selling one privately, preferably in the southern states of Australia, could you please send me a PM.
I did my apprenticeship primarily on TOS and Aciera mills, and while I used Bridgeports too, I didn't feel as comfortable working on them. I'm looking to get away with a decent quality second hand machine with a bit of tooling for $6,000 or less. I'm not in a huge hurry, but I'd like to be installed and running by the time the hot weather starts here again.
This might be a pipe dream, but I figured it was worth asking as Deckels are amazing pieces of equipment, especially for cylinder head work, small machining and other repairs.
