I've had one for a couple years, don't think you'll find anything better for under $300., maybe more.

I'm a semi retired self employed tech, I use the air bag and abs stuff probably as much as powertrain. I do a lot of air bag work for a large body shop near me.

Also have a 802.
It does an excellent job on a Mercedes Sprinter.......( MB has its own code and data stream on top of generic OBDII so not all tools talk Mercedes).

Use it on a Honda’s as well and gives the exact same data list has the factory scan tool.

They're clearing em' out because the MD808 is available now.

Not sure this has merit...........802 have had a variety of prices over the last 4 years. The supply does not seem to be changing. If you look at AUTEL closely they literally have several dozen scan tools with almost identical specifications with different model numbers. Also the AUTEL pricing is all over the place depending on where it’s purchased. At one time there was AUTEL authorized dealers and then a whole other list of resellers. Some say there are other tester that are AUTEL rebadged with other names.

Think the 808 had some bi directional communication.........like the ability to start manual regen of DPF on some diesels. The Sprinter owner’s have been asking the same question on the 808 differences and to date nobody has answered the question with some authority or confidence. Even talking with “tech support” leaves many questions. It kinda nature of the beast on aftermarket scan tools..........still think the product is very good especially for the price point.

Hi all. I have Autel Maxi Diag MD802 which I purchased many years ago. The scanner works great being able to see live data and clear codes until the update. The issue I'm having with scanner after doing an update last year I'm no longer able to view live data for engine and auto transmission. I have contacted the support and they have advised that there could be something wrong with the unit or try to go back to the original firmware version. when I updated the unit I forgot to backup the existing version. I have spoken to autel but they have checked and advised that they no longer have the older version and to try to find someone with older version then mine and get a copy of the software. Is there anyone that has this model with older software?
