Wasn't sure to start a new thread or not, but figured it would be fine to piggy back off of this one. Recently picked up a flat of old tools mainly for a large Williams construction wrench, and found these neat old socket wrenches included.

Cool finds! Early fixed socket wrench era "RAY". There are a few examples on the Packer Auto thread, but they are much less common than the detachable socket sets.

Not sure how you found this thread, searching on "RAY" I am guessing, but you can find the 'Packer Auto ("RAY")' thread under "P" in the A-Z Index of Threads in the READ B4 POSTING Sticky.

Not just fine, but most popularly preferred. There are no rules for posting etiquette, and anyone can always post wherever they want, but many GJers, and not just on this forum, dislike the proliferation of topics that already have a thread, and prefer tacking on to an existing thread, for continuity of discussions and easier finding later, when it's bumped to 2 through n of 537 pages.
