looking for an auto battery nut tool that resembled a pipe wrench (small 4 inch or so) with swivel jaw that would remove stuborn rounded terminal nuts better than the current tools available. have not been able to find one lately. thanks for any information available.

I've never seen a battery tool that resembled a small pipe wrench.:headscrat All I've used over the years have been the pliers. Granted the pliers come in different shapes but, they all pretty much have short deeply serrated jaws. Please post a picture if you find the tool you're looking for.:beer:

I use the Channellock 7" Nutbuster pliers. The curve in the jaws is designed to bite into a stripped nut.

But i think vintage ones look much cooler and some have much slimmer profile. You can search for 'battery nut pliers' on ebay.

For clearance purposes, i think you'll be better of getting one without the fasteners sticking out from the sides to hold the jaws together, and with a head as thin as possible.
