I am thinking of buying or making my own auto body slide hammer spot hammer.. Can I use my tig welder with to supply power to the TIG welder....? The sppt welders slide hammer kits are only $43. So it might be cheaper to buy one. The other issue is how to connect my torch cable to another wire. I am thinking that I can connect a wire where the tungsten on the torch cup. It might be hard connecting that that is thick thick enough. My other option is buy a old torch cable and put a wire eyelet connector.

Spot welding requires high current it could be more than the output of your tig welder. My Dayton spot welder puts out 3,000 amps on the weld side. Not sure if that much is needed for a dent puller. I'm sure that connecting to the tungsten would be a bad idea why not connect ware the torch is connected to the machine. Can you post a link to the slide hammer kits?

I wonder if it might be possible to adapt a Chicago electric spot welder perhaps one could use a piece of tile and then attach some leads to it.

I'm not an expert and have never tried it, but a MiG welder should do it. I can buy a timer for my Lincoln welder and you can set it for .5 to 2 sec, hit the trigger and it will weld stuff. cut off your wire and use your slide hammer. This is not as elegant as the purpose built units, but IIRC it $50 bucks.

haha when I first started welding I had lots of antennas that would have been perfect for pulling. hahaha
