I work away from home and in my spare time I'm playing with little projects
One of the ones I'm playing with is tidying up all my odds n ends from when I do auto electrical stuff.... first off sorting all of my rolls of wire into something tidy and usefull

I'm currently playing around with a design for a roll holder that will hold 12 x 30m rolls.... has a carry handle, is stackable (by the time I finish building the next loom I'm going to have enough rolls of different wire I'll need 3 of them), can be mounted to the end of my bench to so I can drag wire out when doing a loom.... and its going to be fun to build lol

I'm just wondering if anyone else has come up with some cool ideas for this ? google hasn't really shown me a lot lol

Cheers Reece

Here's a workbench mounted rack but it's not designed to be portable.

It would be easy enough to build something like this. You could put a handle on top for carrying it around, and hang it on a couple hooks of some sort on the end of the workbench.

This is what I've come up with... a couple of sheet metal hammer forms that are bolted to stays and the spindles..... should be a bit of fun to build

That gives me enough room to fit 12 30m rolls on each frame, and should stack nicely and I can scale one to fit a few 100m rolls

plastic milk crates and some 1/2 " emt
You can fit more wire in it than you care to carry
loop the wire thru a hole and fold over when not in use

Our milk crates are **** they are for 2L square plastic bottles so have massive holes in the side... not like the old glass bottle ones

Little projects like these for me are about giving me something to do after hrs because I'm working away..... so I don't mind a bit of stupidity in the production, hense the hammer formed sheet metal.... I can easily make a MDF buck and hammer the sheetmetal over here and take them home in my luggage.... another project I've just about finished is a plastics vacuum forming bench so I can form tool organisers for my tool boxes

Here's a setup from Lawson. Also found a similar setup on wayfair. Room for wire spools and terminals, all in one setup.
