Hey Folks,

Long, long time, no talk. I bought a house with a nice (30x36) detached garage, which includes a lube pit. The lube pit had a lid installed that I need to rip up (since it seals the pit 90% shut), and replace with a raiseable lid. Does anyone have a setup like this?

Also, for those of you who use your shops for auto work, how do you handle exhaust fumes? A buddy recommended I just punch a hole in a wall and run 4" flexible tubing I can stuff over an exhaust pipe, but thought I'd see if anyone had more creative/clean installations.

From a purely technical point of view, commercial pits are required to have an exhaust system built in. All 8 of the gas stations I managed had the good old rubber hoses that went through a port in the roll up door for car exhaust.
