I have 2 SUN ignition scopes and a SUN distributor tuning machine. I know that SUN is no longer in business but is there any company that services and repairs these machines. One of the scopes doesn't work and the other one partially works. Thanks alot

Find someone who reads and accumulates "Hot Rod Deluxe" magazine...roughly a year ago they did and article on these things, with some repair info and a source or two.

The article Bruce is likely referring to featured Mark Saunders in Byron Center, MI who restores the Sun Distributor Machines- www.paramountd.com

I do not know of anyone refurbishing the diagnostic machines, outside of the exhaust analyzers. That said, I have gotten some of my older machines to function after buying them in-op. Depending on the models you have, I *might* be able to help. I have tinkered on the scope-equipped units that I currently own- 1011, 1015, Infra-Red Analyzer, 2001 Diagnostic Computer, MEA 1805.

I just now have an issue with both of my Sun 1011 Engine analyzers.......The wave patterns on the screen do not appear normal.....they both seemed to have a similar failure

They both have a random bright white line zig-zagging randomly across the picture screen. They both were bought in the 1980's and one had worked flawlessly until a couple of months ago. I bought the 2nd machine as a back up for parts, etc. and had no idea it's failure would end up being the same as my #1 1011 scope.

Any ideas on how to diagnose?

You might try finding an old TV repairman. Sounds like you have a problem in the CRT control transformers, but that's as far as I know about them. Computer monitor repairman also would be someone to try to find, now everything is LCD or newer but old time computer monitors would be same type of failure modes.
