Auto Laser Level Recommendations?

I already used the search...but seems most are buying the manual leveling laser levels.

I'm looking for recommedations for an 360 degree, auto leveling laser level for home use to use with cabinets, sheet rock, painting, pictures, tile, shelves and such. It doesn't have to be $5,000 accurate, but I'd like it to be at least + or - 1/4" over 50 feet.

Now to the challenge...I'm looking to spend no more than $200, and preferably less.

I've heard dewalt is good, but getting under $200 unless I go used on ebay is tough.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Id like to know too. There seams to be a lot of unknown names in the laser field (at least to me) and I dont want a piece of junk.

The Self Leveling Dewalt with the battery pack is model DW078KE and sells for over $600 bucks.....Its well above my cost target...although as I research, I'm beginning to get doubtful I'll find an accurate self leveling one under $200 bucks.

Anyone used the new Dewalt DW074KD? It is self leveling but uses traditional batteries instead of a battery pack...runs a little over $400. anyone know differences between it and the model above?

It's the rotary that's killing it for you, I think. Many/most people are probably using the 120* projection ones at that price point.

I'm not a contractor, but for inside uses, I use the HF one I got for $40. It's not auto-leveling though, so setup takes a few minutes. Out of the box, it wasn't anywhere near calibrated, but I was able to get it to within 1/16" at about 30' calibrating it indoors. That's more than good enough for working inside any home though.

The projection lasers ****! Anything that projects, makes the beam wider as it gets further from the center. It's a nice crosshair projection in the middle, but across a room at 90 degrees from the center, it may be a 1/2" wide beam. The rotary is the same beam all over.
