Auto Logout every 5-10 min

I may be blind but I cannot find a setting anywhere to keep me logged in. I look at this site a lot at work and ever since ive been a member I get logged off if i'm not switching through pages every 5 min. I always click the Keep Me logged in (remember me?) option when I log in but it doesnt keep me logged in. Its kind of frustrating having to refresh, and login everytime I come back to a page I havent closed.

Is there something I can do to fix this?

I'm always logged in. Maybe it's your browsers privacy settings

Click remember me when you log on and that should fix the problem.

I have the same problem. I suspect it is because I told Firefox to block garagejournal cookies long time ago before I became a member. Removed the block and we'll see how that works out.

I have the same problem, even though I'm always logged in I loose all the unread threads. I find this is a problem on all v-bulletin type forums. A way around this would be heplful because I don't even get to some of the forum topic areas and there are no unread threads because I've timed out.

Clean out cookies on the computer and make sure you tick the box on the forum remember me.

As others have suggested, empty your browser cache first. And then restart browser. If no joy, then you could easily have some sort of cookie blocker in your browser. If you're using Firefox, you would go to Tools > Add-ons and then peruse that list. Look for any add-on that might block cookies, then look for a 'whitelist' option, go to the 'edit whitelist' and add garagejournal.com to your whitelist. Then close all windows and restart the browser. I am guessing this (adding this forum to whitelist) would work for other browsers as well.

I do use Firefox and I use an add-on called 'Self Destructing Cookies', in which I had to whitelist all my favorite sites..........

I found that the Firefox add-on for checking emails called X-Notifier was logging me out of GJ every few minutes. It affected a lot of websites, but it's slowly getting better as websites update their software. It completely prevents me from logging on to some websites. I still have to disable it before I do online banking. GJ is okay for me now.

I wasn't able to post feedback to the X-Notifier website because their add-on kept me from logging on.
