I don't know if these are auto wrenches - anyone have any idea who made these? One is fully in Japanese and the other has TAS on it. Japanese 1.jpgJapanese 2.jpgTAS 1.jpgTAS 2.jpg

I have seen Ford, Fiat, BMW, Mercedes, Austin, and Toyota.
Picked up this decently made midget DBE wrench this morning at the flea. I don't know anything about it or what era Fix It Again Tony car it may have been associated with. I just get a kick out of reading and pronouncing the Italian rendition of Chrome Molybdenum. :)

I picked one more today manufactured by Frank Mossberg for Ford… 1” on the one end and 15/16” on the other end. Just looking now to try and figure out approximately what year it might be. So far, I’ve found a model number #634 and after some searching I’m guessing the wrench to be from the 1920 era.

Some Cadillac marked wrenches. I don’t know much about them.
Some might be from auto supplied tool-kits. Others could be factory supplied service tools.
Wish I knew.

If it ain't a tool, what is it? I probably use this more often than all the tools shown in this tread get used! I keep one in the shop, one in the brewery and one in, of course, the Toyota. We mostly use them to support and/or position equipment. When leveling a three-ton centrifuge, it's awful handy to be able to lift one corner at a time with the little jack instead of trying to lift it with the screw-in leveling feet.

I was elated to pick up this Stutz wrench at the flea this morning. It has a considerable offset. Judging only by its resemblance to wrenches of similar types and size openings, I am guessing it has something to do with hubs or dustcaps, or both. Dating it to the 1913-1938 time period is easy, but I don't know what model Stutz automobile it is associated with, I don't know anything about Stutz toolkits, and I have not yet done any research on them, the P/N ("7164"), etc. At first I thought that foundry symbol was Lakeside Forge, but now I am not so sure.

Fiat tools with the SAT XXXX marking were factory tools supplied to Fiat Dealership workshops. Iirc, SAT was an abbreviation for 'Special Application Tool'.
11mm was an unusual size, certainly on the older Fiat's, the only place I can recall this size being used was on the valve adjuster locknut on the old overhead valve (pushrod) engines. I can't determine this from your pics, but is this wrench sized 11mm on both ends?

I recently found this screwdriver marked TOYOTA. I knew it was made in Japan, based on another one I'd found, but the TOYOTA mark was a pleasant surprise.

I also found this Phillips screwdriver which is very similar. I'm sure it was made in Japan, but I don't see any markings. I wonder if Toyota included one of these in their tool kits.

EDIT, it didn't take much Googling to answer that question. Here's a 72-74 Landcruiser tool roll.

I found this #2 Phillips with a wood handle at an estate sale yesterday. I didn’t discover the Toyota Motor markings until I got it home and cleaned it up some. IMG_2763.jpegIMG_2764.jpeg

Update… picked up another Ford Wrench, same as the one I already had… the handle shape is slightly different. This is more straight while the first one had a slight curved shape.
