I bought this AutoArc XPT 6000 off CL a few months ago for little over $100. Seemed to fire up so figured worth the risk at that price. I think it was originally made by Miller. It's only 110V and has the compressor built in. Very long leads.
Yes, I know there are no doubt bigger units that will cut 1" plate, will run off 220V, sync to my phone, make me margaritas, were sold on a tool truck, etc. but it was cheap, and likely will do everything I need it to do.
Frankly don't have a real need for one, but I figured for the price it would go well with my cheap MIG welder that I occasionally break out for some poor quality welding on a bracket or something for the track car (no suspension, no roll cage, no welds that could cause me to die).
My real challenge is finding replacement parts for the torch. I'd like to give it a freshen up and replace some of the consumables. Eventually I'll have a need for it, loan it to a friend, and I'd like it to be ready to go. My googling hasn't gotten me anywhere with the part numbers. Do most of these inexpensive plasma cutters use common torch parts, or are they all different?
Thanks!
