I've been giving some serious consideration towards purchasing the Asian bundle and wondering how people who use it today like it. Since its updated constantly i'm having a hard time finding many relevent impressions. For example problems/compatability issues people encountered 3 years ago arent necessarily relevent today and many of the threads/reviews i've found are indeed that old or older. Anyone using current versions and have likes/serious dislikes?

I have AutoEnginuity on my laptop but I don't use it much. Probably 5-6 times a month. I don't use it that much anymore is because I have AllDATA, OnDemand5 and Snap On Altas Programs to take care of most if not all problems.

AutoEnginuity works really well if that's the only program you have to work it. It's really great for troubleshooting electrical diagrams.

I know a guy that makes a living doing mobile electrical diagnostic with just his AutoEnginuity loaded on his laptop.

I have it and use it all the time. Updates are cheap as well. seems to work well I like the interface its clean and works well. Can be a little slow on some vehicles.

AE is the primary scanner I use in the shop. Like fine wine, it gets better all the time. Many bi-directional controls available years before you see it on Snap On scanners. IIRC, they were the first aftermarket to have bi-directional controls on GM CAN systems; snappys was still on the drawing board...

I got the AE Pro Bundle.

There's an old Modis in the shop somewhere; last time I found it, some newby tech had busted the screen, but it still worked; looked like it had been through hell and back.

Interesting thread... I thought AE was lacking in the bidirectional controls (only through what I heard).

I have an OTC Genisys version 3.0 and it has served me well, though with time I have noticed things that were annoying, like there is only one flashdrive (old) on which I can save data (no answer from OTC about this) and the small screen. I am now curious to try seeing graphs on a bigger screen.

Bidirectional control is something I want, so I will definitely take a harder look at AE.

Don't believe everything you've heard, especially on GJ will all the tool polishers and collector dribble...:lol_hitti

AE has several options; their basic is just a Global/OBD2 option without any bidirectional controls. When you select the manufactuer specific bundles, you will get the ability to control acuators, etc and systems.

I use it in class and recommend it, I think it's the best "bang for the buck" in the scan tool market. I have several OE scanners and it's no match for them but if you compare it with its peers, it's a great tool.

Good Luck!
