I did a quik search before and didn't see anything pop up about the Chamberlin/Lift Master M Q system. I recently added this to my Craftsman garage door openers and have to report its awsome. I started out looking for an automatic door closing system and wound up with the lift master kit. One of its features is an automatic door closer but it does allot more. You can open your door via the web or phone but more importantly you can have the system alert you if your door opens or is left open or fails to close. I have it alerting me if the door is left open after the time frame every one should have left for work.

I suggest you guys check it out. I did two openers for about $105. If you shop around it can be found for less. It was cheaper than the auto closing systems I saw and accopmlishes that function and so much more. If you only want the auto close the control pads can be had for $25 and you can for go the gateway.

Also note this system works for other manufactures of openers that Chamberlin OEMs openers for(Case in point the Craftsman brand).

If this has been discussed befor disregard this post. I just thought this system had allot of value for the money and needed to be shared.

I have the same system at my house as well and it helps alleviate the worry of "did I close the door...."

You can order on amazon the pieces separately for a good bit cheaper on amazon. I got both for $50.

Someone posted a thread a while ago about this process as well. Cool toy

I believe this is the link to the earlier thread http://garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=204026 . I installed the system this past Monday along with a new Chamberlain garage door opener only to find that I needed to also order the homelink repeater. My cars are both 2006 models and because of an update by homelink the built in homelink won't work without it. I'm not complaining because I can still control my garage door from my phone but I also want the homelink in my cars to work. I found it on Amazon for $34.00. After I'd already ordered it I found it $27.00 on the linkmaster site.

I did this using the link above through Amazon. I was amazed at how simple it was to hook up and how well it works. Definitely worth the money.
