Use Google to come in the back door.

Thanks for the tip Zeke!

I’ll have to try this with my wife tonight!

Use this format:
[site:garagejounal.com/ (subject, including two letter searches)]

Example: site:garagejounal.com/ 12 gauge

and you get this:

https://www.google.com/search?hl=en...S:official&q=site:garagejournal.com/+12+gauge

You can't search "12" here.

Lol…Thanks, but that’s not what I meant, I guess I worded it wrong.

Should have said:

i personally believe that when one selects "start new thread" a pop up "did you search first" should be displayed along with a search box

as far as bumping old threads... i sometimes find it odd but i see no harm in it

No, I really don't see the harm either, If it is an old thread, I'll usually say something like, " I know this is an old thread, but"......................
I can tell you what bugs me, when researching something, Not necessarily here only, but when you get pictures hosted that have been deleted,
when the picture could have been hosted here, say, and it would stay here.

If I don't post in an old thread if I have a relevant question, and start a new one then I will be told 'do a search'; 'Google is your friend' and 'bang your wife'. I do try to start my post by acknowledging it is an old thread being resurrected for a purpose.

FYI - I try to perform all three suggestions as often as possible before posting.

These old threads are not broken.. They still work good for trading information about stuff that IS broken.. You can add a new fix for an old problem, or a fresh parts source for obsolete parts.. The older threads get even better with the updates..
