Automotive Interior Tools

I need some input on interior tools. I'll be dismantling my wife's '11 Tahoe door panels in a few weeks to install new door handles. I need some recommendations on any specific special tools I'll be needing.

I've never taken a door panel off that specific vehicle, but you shouldn't need any special tools. Philips, flathead, and a few small sockets should be all you need.

Not sure on the Chevrolet, but I removed a Dodge truck door panel and all I used was a 10mm for the handle and a phillips screwdriver. I'm not sure if they use the push in plastic plugs.

My '97 Chevy truck has the plastic push in style fasteners; I assume the newer ones do as well.

Oh yes there are right tools for the right job out there.

Depends on car and make and model.

Prolly a dozen threads on GJ I have responded to.

Some door pads have air bags like the Ml320. Some use unique attachment means. Dodge Caravan doors use the xtra long pop tool for long reach door pad pins.

Just pull that pad till ya hear a pop. Thats the dealer going $$$'s yeah and your wallet going limp. BTW--watch out for that air bag.

You should be able to get through it with various screwdrivers, but I have a Blue Point set of these and find them very handy on any interior work or other things with push pin fasteners.

10mm socket, 7mm socket, A plastic non-marring window setting tool "White Stick" Watch the you tube videos and they will show fastner and door pad removal.

those doors are super easy to remove you shouldn't have a problem just watch removing the cover under the door handle a lot of people just use a flat screwdriver and pry it. the plastic is soft and gouges easily. same goes for the whole panel when its off lay it face up or on something soft it scratches easily
