Automotive Rendering

Does anyone here have experience making automotive renderings? We have to submit renderings in some sponsorship packets for our build Mustang For A Marine. If there is anyone that could help us out or a good tutorial. I have experience in illustrator, not as much in Photoshop. Is there a better program to use?

Rendering is a pretty deep topic (I've only scratched the surface), but there are two components: the 3D model, and then the render of the model. From what I've read, to do it right you use different tools for each.

For the model, you can use SketchUp, AutoCAD, etc., and perhaps you already have one of these. For the render, 3DStudio is the "Photoshop" of the trade, but there are others like Blender, Maya, etc. These are all big dollar, complex tools, and require major computing horsepower. To get one of those beautiful renders you see in advertisements it would probably take a "serious" desktop a good 12 hours to do the render.

I'm far from a pro at this but have done some basic 3D work for a work project using SketchUp and TheaRender.

Fusion 360 is pretty sophisticated for free software.

Once the car model is created, virtual cameras can fly by as one wishes, the model can move as well obviously.

This video is for the very patient (it is just part 1) or those who need insomnia theatre.

No I do not have the patience or practice to do any of this. If serving several life terms, I would learn.
