Not that I can tell. Oddly enough, the head resembles my dads Taiwan blackhawk ratchet.

These new duralast rats look very nice. No flex heads yet. Just standard length and no 1/4 yet.

Yeah those are the ratchets I seen the other day. Really small head. Really nice ratchets it looked like.

I thought I read somewhere that Duralast tools from Autozone are lifetime warranty. Is that true? If so, do you have to have a receipt? Is it all Duralast branded tools?

Autozone takes your phone number. Warranty used by the info you gave them.

But is cleared from the system every 2 years on parts. Atleast over here.
Tools should be based on house brand, not purchase date, but may be wrong.

Well with "guaranteed for life" stamped on the handle and duralast only sold at autozone, i don't see where there would be a problem warranting anything. But I've never broken a duralast tool.

BUT, if they change house brands again, :dunno:

Regarding their parts, I have some 'guaranteed for life' parts still in their system for more than 15 years. I have seen the screen where they are listed under my name & phone#. Did warrant a starter last year which was bought 17-18 years ago. No experience with their tools.

Is it from the taiwan gearwrench factory?

Just (sort of) kidding.:willy_nil

Has gearwrench started making their ratchets in china yet? :dunno:

Stopped by AZ and grabbed some pics of the new 3/8" ratchet. They also had a 1/2". Seems like a very nice ratchet. I may pick one up at some point, but I already have a huge drawer full of 3/8 ;-). If I recall it was about $28.

I may have missed pics on another thread, but if not:

Y'know, I like quick-release, but why is the QR button/mechanism on most imported ratchets so enormous?

Not bad looking, but I think I would rather drop $23 on the Blackhawk BP-1338.

Hmm, not bad. Now we need some hands on reviews. Do they still carry the old style or have they fully been replaced by the new design?

At my local store they still carry the older open stock ratchets. In fact they also now carry the stubby 3/8 drive again which was previously special order.
