Specifically the Icon line of hand tools, is there a certain day when Harbor Freight gets a fresh delivery? I went to Harbor Freight on Friday night and they were basically sold out of Icon tools. Is this normal in your local Harbor Freight?

I am sure that not every store gets a delivery on the same day. Why not call your local store and ask? Or place an online order

I waited 6 months for HF to restock the 12v Earthquake polisher sander at my local store finally gave up and paid the xtra dime for the Milwaukee which I should have in the first place anyhow.

My store has empty shelves and racks ALL the time and most especially when there is halfway decent on the item in question

Talk to the store manager. The only two scenarios I can see is they can’t or don’t want to order whatever you’re looking for, but if you ask, I’m sure they would. It sounds like this might be the case if the entire selection is thin. Or payday is a bad day to go shopping (try Thursday instead). Hard to imagine Icon is that popular, but maybe a handful of items are really popular? The manager might be able to set something aside for you.

I was browsing pics of Charlottesville,VA location. Same story, different chapter of the rest of the store being well-stocked . But the ICON section was wiped clean.

i have spoken with store personnel at a couple of different stores. I think at least for the ones i shop at, they are medium size stores and deliveries are not on set days but on multiple days during the week usually 2. It is very hit and miss what will be on the truck.

Yes in both the stores i shop Icon has been selling very well at least for sockets and ratchets. I know there is a 20% coupon floating around so the problem is probably even worse now.

The one store clerk says a lot of times when shipments come in the Icon stuff is gone within a day or two. If you call and ask them to hold something they have in stock they will hold it for a day but not beyond that (at least that has been my experience).

I have given up on wasted trips to harbor freight only to find out the item I want is out of stock. Ive been ordering online with them lately. Plus it beats the 30 minute checkout line.

It likely depends on the HF store because a good store manager is the key. I'm fortunate to have a brand spanking new HF store in a brand new free standing building about a mile away from me. This store is a big upgrade on some of the older locations in rundown strip malls.

When it was being built, it seemingly took forever. Some wags on the local social media kept making cracks about it, saying it was taking so long because they were building it with HF tools and predicting it would fail as no one wanted their ****. The joke is on them. This store is busy 7 days a week from open to close. The manager is awesome and he hired a great crew of people with excellent customer service skills. You'll get a greeting when you walk in the door. Regulars offers of help finding things as you wander the aisles. They'll even tell you which are the best products and the ones to avoid.

I have noticed a lot of bare hooks because things are selling at a good clip. Last week I needed a set of ⅜ drive deep sockets in metric, and decided that for a buck or two more than the perfectly adequate Pittsburg sockets, the Quinn brand seemed worth it only to find that hook was empty. The SAE sockets next to it had plenty. I asked the nearest HF guy if they had any metric in back, he pulled out a little gizmo, scanned the bar code and said, yup, be right back. He came back with an armload for the the hook and handed me a set. He told me they restock the shelves every night after closing and by the next afternoon some stuff is already wiped out, with the Icon stuff being one of the fastest sellers. He asked me if I originally wanted the Icon deep sockets and had settled for the Quinn? Told him nope, the Quinn's were what I came in for. He just smiled and said "good choice" and asked if I needed anything else.

My local HF is well stocked all the time. I was there this past weekend and bought an ICON 3/8's ratchet with the 20% off coupon. They had 2 full rows of ICON tools. I'm also impressed with the tool chest selection at my local store. They have seemingly the entire color line in stock.

The stores vary quite a bit, so if there are more stores in range or on your way, it can be worth checking.

And yeah, if you're looking for something that's sold out, feel free to ask. More than once, they've pointed me to another display with inventory. If it's not in the store, they may have good advice on when to check.

If they could incorporate on hand inventory into their website....game changer.

That's what I'm waiting on, well that and an in-store pick-up option. My local store's got plenty of space for a dedicated counter. As close as they can get to Home Depot's online ordering system, where it shows other local store stock levels would be great.

When the Earthquake XT series came out, there was a 2-3 month waiting list for the 1/2". Whenever 4 showed up at my local store, they called people on the list, did not put them on the shelf. They were on allocation from corporate.
I didn't bother to get on the list and got over my "need" for one. I was wandering around the store for the first time in a year last week and I noticed there was exactly one 1/2" XT on the shelf. It's been over two years.

Any East coast Harbor Freight enthusiasts on here? Not everyone has the state of their location in their profile. I appreciate those of you who do.

Our stores manager told me Tuesday was their freight day and they dont restock until Wednesday usually. Ours is also missing a lot of Icon currently.
