Started to throw some things on the wall and organize some today. I think it looks good, now if I can just get the rest of the garage organized better and move some of this junk out and put it away where it belongs...

Good job on improving your two car garage. It is fun to me to do something like that.

One way you can get some efficient storage space is to add cabinets on the sides of your garage. Keep them high enough off the floor so they will not hinder opening your car doors. A neat way of attaching them is to utilize long French Cleats. That way if you desire to rearrange your cabinets you can.

Oh yea I forgot. You can see in above pics, but I got a little 6 gallon air compressor
From an in-law. It was broken. Needed a new regulator. I was told I could have it I'd I fixed it. Even better, he gave me the new regulator with it. So after a little work, I had it up and running. Can't beat that for free.

It's up and running. And works great! After being on for only 30 min, the garage felt the same as inside the house (70F) and its mid 30s outside!!! I wanna get an indoor/outdoor thermometer with a humidity reader for the garage so i can see the comparison. But so far I'm very happy. It ran fit about 3 hours and I did not notice any moisture issues, but I guess it needs to run longer to really know.

Well I'm not sure. I'm assuming your talking about the silver platform w/ folding legs that my drill and CO detector are sitting on in the above picture? My wife bought it for me last year for Christmas, but I do believe it was a Black Friday deal at lowes last year (2011)

Yes, that was what I was referring too, sorry for being vague. I picked up a similar one this year from Lowe's this past fall and was curious if you took advantage of the same sale and what you thought of the platform.

I love it. It helps out with a lot of different things. Makes a handy mobile work bench for random projects around the house

Looks nice... my water heater is in the corner of my garage as well. I go back and forth between getting a gas heater like yours and tapping into the supply line, or getting a 220V electrical one (I have 220 for my welder). Then I just open the door to my house and turn the heat up inside a little bit and never make up my mind.

Gas will be cheaper. It was so easy to tap into the line. As long as your smart about it.

Having heat in the garage is absolutely amazing. it takes no time to warm up and sometimes i forget its cold outside after going in the garage (cus im so accustom to it being cold in the garage)

The only down side to this so far is the wall space i had to give up to keep the clearances. It needs 3 ft on each side. and this this is 2 ft wide itself, so that 8 ft of wall space that is spoken for. BUT on the bright side, that means that there is 8 ft of wall that i can not clutter up, so it kinda works out. (keep me in line! haha)

Well, my ideal setup would be enclose cabinets like the Ulti-mate cabinets or something similar. I just want to be able to hide the junk I keep in the garage. But until I can afford that, I'll stick with basic shelves

I want 2 full size cabinets (floor to ceiling) with a work bench between them and smaller cabinets up top, similar to this picture. And they would go on the wall to the right in the above pictures ( where aquariums are sitting)

Heated shop is a must. I just installed a 45000btu propane heater. works great so far. No pilot light, turns on as required by thermostat.

You talkin depth or length? I've got another 10ft of wall length to do something with after taking away the heater clearences. But as far as depth goes its only about 1-2ft it's one thing I wish I could do, expand the wall farther back to give more space



But there's no way I can afford any cabinets right now, and definitely can't pay to expand. A firefighters pay is not much at all.

Well... i just turned my application in to enlist into the Army National Guard.. MEPS next week, wish me luck. I am going to have a delayed enlistment thought. I am not going to go to basic untill well after the baby is born.

well ive been away from here for a while... Ive been busy workin fulltime at the fire department, working part time at autozone, The national guard, and then finally, this lil guy. born april 26. about 3 weeks early, but healthy.
