The name's Scott, don't worry about the rangerfredbob thing... I'd explain but don't wanna, call me whatever :)

I'm from Oregon, have WAY too many hobbies and likely recognize a few names and people from other forums around the interwebs... I've been into Ford Rangers for over 20 years now and my '90 is far from what it rolled out of the factory as... 4x2 grandpa mobile 4 cylinder 5 speed no options to 4x4 lifted with first gen Explorer axles, a turbo 2.3L and bucket seats... After the shop is functional I hope to take my '00 5.0L Explorer under the knife and put a Dana 44/50 TTB hybrid axle together up front and a Sterling 10.25 for the back to fit ~37" tires, it's already converted to real 4x4 instead of AWD and has a built trans...

Also into RC airplanes (which somehow translated to weedeaters and chainsaws? I've converted a couple engines for planes over the years), ATV (and ATC) riding and pellet guns, but almost everything has taken a hold over the last year with the shop build... That encompasses a lot of other stuff, so if there's something between chances are I have something related to them :), like the tractor and mower and such needed to take care of the 5 acres...

Shop is a 36'x48' pole barn, two roll up doors, 6" slab (about ready to pour), just put the PEX in the floor, will have an office and loft... I can't wait, my garage is WAY too stuffed with various hobby stuff... I need a shop to build the stuff needed to build a shop...

Welcome to the Forum from Roanoke Virginia. I have a Mazda B2200 not quite the same as a Ford Ranger but close. I always like Ford trucks especially the Rangers just not the new ones.

I'm not the biggest fan of the newer ones either, I like the simplicity of the older ones, that's why I bought a '97 Ranger 4x2 extended cab 4 cylinder a year ago for a daily driver, last year of the twin I beam suspension, it's paid for itself literally with the gas savings over my V8 Explorer I was driving for a couple years... Sure the Duratec 2.3L would get better mileage but I know the Lima way better...
