Who made Award tools?

I saw this tack puller. At a distance I thought it was an import, maybe a Fuller brand. I was surprised to see it had USA on it, and because it had a brand name that I had never heard of, I bought it.

It is difficult to search for Award Tools without running into tools given as awards. I was surprised to find a few handled tools by Award on e-bay (click to see pics below). Just looking for some background.

According to the USPTO the Award trademark was first used in 1964, registered in 1965 and sold to Fuller in 1970.

Fuller bought them at some point but I don't remember when.

Lesserstore, thank you so much for this! I was having a difficult time tracking anything down on this company. What you found makes perfect sense.

We have some Award stuff at work. I know we have a pair of Dykes and some drivers, possibly others. They were in my Bosses Uncles Craftsman toolbox from the 60's-70's mixed in with Bonney, Sears, Craftsman, SnapOn, and some Japan stuff.

Hi - I am a first timer at Garage Journal. Happy that I found it, and this thread. I recently bought a vintage iron corner framing / miter vise. I had never heard of the maker (AWARD), nor could I find another one. Could this be the same Award that made the above mentioned tools?439190BA-0D04-4F3C-8679-5B2F4ED05EA3.jpeg1B5D354B-BBA8-40CA-AD8E-76BD1A46887A.jpeg

I have the same Award tack puller as the OP, but one of the fangs on mine broke off. This tool was super handy and effective when I removed carpet underlayment and tackless that was stapled into the subfloor. I will probably replace, but likely will not be able to find it new. Guessing any warranty is long past. Craftsman has a similar tool and would be consistent with my toolbox.
