I used to have a well used ratchet like this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VINT...Z320637557894QQptZMotorsQ5fAutomotiveQ5fTools that only worked one way. The square ****** rounded off also so i couldn't use it anymore :(

I exchanged it for what appeared to be a newer fully polished and sealed rebuilt 1/2"drive thin profile craftsman ratchet. The one guy was going to give me a cheap 1/2" drive tear drop model but i told him this older one more closely resembled the thin profile ratchet because they both were all metal parts and the older one one was kinda more like a low profile one any ways. Then a lady at the counter pulled the thin profile one up from under a nearby counter and said that this newer one they usually used for the discontinued vintage models like what i had. The lady didn't care which one I took so I said i wanted the the thin profile instead.

The guy who I originally spoke to was being a **** about it. He said it shouldn't matter because the cheaper one also came with a lifetime warranty lol.

For that matter... you could have insisted on a brand new ratchet! Next time take one off the shelf and take ti to the counter! :)
