Awesome pocket LED light!

I was browsing at a local tool store and came across this EZ Red light.

It's designed to fit in a shirt pocket, and has a magnetic base. Fit in a shirt pocket? Whirrr, whirrrr......click. Then it hits me. Shirt pocket? So mean so it shines light forward and I have both hands free? You mean no squiggling my neck like a pigeon to shine light where I need it? Only $15? SOLD!

And it works just as it says. Awesome! I worked an afternoon on my tractor, and it was in my shirt pocket and on the whole time. The AAA batteries held up fine. It was so cool to just crawl underneath and the light shone as I moved. It's such simple engineering, but perfect for what it's designed for. It's the best purchase I've made in a long time!

Maybe this is old hat for professional techs, but it was way-cool for me so I thought someone might be interested. Anyone else have this light or something similar?

my snap on driver sells those on the truck. I've never asked the price but I'm willing to bet it's a helluva lot more than the $15 you paid!! They do look handy though and the light is nice and bright.

Matco sells them for a little over $20. I bought one for $10, but lost the end cap somewhere in an engine bay.

For the record, the one Advance sells with the Autocraft name on it looks identical, but the body is a hair bigger, and the end cap doesn't fit. However, it works just as well, and only costs $7.

I haven't tried a pocket flood, but I do like the HF LED bar of soap sized lights. My main light for that type of work is a $7 headlight from China, puts the light right where I want it, but does take some getting used to a ******** the head.

Woven cloth last time I checked. It's embarrassing when I spill coffee on my cardboard shirt and it melts.......

Actually we had a cold snap already, it was only 10C in the garage so I had it clipped to my hoodie. Headlights are OK, but my head bobbles way more than my torso when crawling into or under something, so I really appreciated the steady light this pocket light gave.

I have one of these and really like it too. It has magnets on the back and a folding hook on the top so it's easy to position. I use it all the time.

stylus pro here. used to have a stylus but it just didnt put out enough light. if i need hands free light i have a blue point with 48 leds on a swivel magnetic base that is BRIGHT.

Seems like the clip should be located in back of the LED's instead of on the side of them so that the light would shine out in front of you when it was clipped in your pocket. Am I missing something?

even better would be to make the clip the actual light housing so the heavy battery compartment sits in your pocket.

Not even close to the light this thing puts out! It's a flood , lights my whole bedroom up.
Be careful some if the knockoffs look the same , but there isn't any magnet in the end.

had the advance auto parts version, the older version with the clip on the back. lasted probably about a year used duct tape on the cap to make sure it stayed on. finally the cap broke. great light though really need to go buy another.

The EZ Red's are nice lights for the money.

I would advise some electrical tape (or duck tape) wrapped around the end cap as it has a very bad habit of coming off leaving a trail of batteries behind you.
