I’ve made a model on how I plan to install the flashing, the corners where the edge of the flashing meets the siding (circled in red) I plan to use silicone on. Please let me know if this is correct/ thoughts and comments.

What should I use to cut the sheet metal walls? A cutoff wheel about the same thickness of the flashing?

Yes. .040 inch is the thinnest I have found

If you have a Dremel tool, they have cutoff wheels also.

I ended up finding a piece of flashing at Home Depot. I’ll have to tweak it a little bit to get the downward angle on the face. It’s galvanized steel, should I leave it or paint it?

After taking a closer look at the door frame I think I’ve figured out how the water is getting in
