I have a motorhome that is on a P30 chassis, I want to service the front wheel bearings, the cap that covers the spindle nut is recessed within the hub, I cannot get any type of pliers/channel locks inside the hub to remove the cap.

Is there a special tool to get this cap off?

I use a chisel bit with an air hammer and just replace them everytime they come off.. They're usually pretty inexpensive and you could buy quite a few before you broken even with buying the special tool.

You guys are not reading my post, the cap is recessed in the hub, you cannot get a chisel or screw driver in there, there is about an inch of space around the cap, it is recessed about 3 inches

I will post a pic later

I always punch a hole in them and pull them out. I have a small slide hammer with a hook on the end that works well for this.
