When my house was built I had them stub a chimney line through the garage roof for a future heater. I am getting ready to install the heater and was looking at the B-Vent last night, the brand is Hart and Cooley. Do I need to use the same brand for the rest of the piping? My reason for asking is none of the stores around me carry this brand, I will have to go to a HVAC supply house to get it.

Thanks,

Scott

Generally its a good idea to stay with the same brand as several of them have different ways of locking the joints, some are push together with fingers others are 1/4 turn. That being said they all are constructed to meet spec. I know that several of the box stores around here sell generic adapters that allow different manufacturers to fit together without hurting performance.
