B4900 2 stage compressor / aftercooler

2 notes:

This b4900 doesn't have any fins / other on the piping between stages :mad: Thought it did.. But anyway - real question or note is on making a (cooler) between pump / tank and cooler / trap down the line.

Have skimmed through a few threads on after coolers. Thanks all for all the work / details for others to follow. Any yes/no comments on making a B&M or other transmission setup between pump and tank.

5HP 220V 15 - 18 +/- CFM output. 60 gallon tank. South Texas / garage.

Also drained dino 30wt oil and thinking of royal purple Air Compressor Oil - Synfilm Recip 100 - Synthetic

The smooth tube is the intercooler between the 1st and 2nd stage. It looks like the original aftercooler on the discharge side is missing or the configuration didn't have one. The normal aftercooler for this pump isn't very big and doesn't loop back around, so it isn't very effective on cooling the air before going into the tank
