Bacho tools where are they made?

Does anyone know where bahco tools are made? I've been looking on Amazon.com but I can't find where the country of origin is on there Web site. I looked on bacho online catalog and couldn't find anything ether.

Some were/ are USA too. I have a really nice made in USA 3/8" SAE socket set, came with standard and deep sockets, Ernst rails, extensions and a sweet ratchet with a rubber grip. Quite different in appearance and feel compared to any other brand of sockets and ratchets I've used, but they are a really quality product. I paid around $35 for that set on clearance a few years back. Ironically a GJ member tipped me off on them. My only regret is my cheap *ss didn't buy the Metric set too.

Bahco is now a part of SNA Europe.

The only current production in Sweden is Saw blades (Former Sandvik Saw)(but tell your friend to check the coo, since some saws are made in Minsk (Russia) or China), Forest tools (now named Edsbyn Industrial, a branch offered for sale, since SNA doesn´t see forest equipment as their core business), and some Lindström pliers.

Some 10 years ago, Bahco employed 6.000 people in Sweden.

The number is now appr. 600.

This, but add China, Argentina, Portugal and Belarus also.

And on the US market it seems that there is some US made items also (re-branded Williams?).

Sockets, wrenches and ratchets are generally Argentina or Taiwan.

Sweden are only saws now and some knives.

Belarus is saws also.

Portugal is files.

Spain is adjustable wrenches, screwdrivers and some pliers.

France is mostly pliers.

China is many things, even some pliers now a days.

Yes, that is true. Re-brands from another manufacturer. Overall I would say regarding Bahco COO and quality: be wary! I have never been let down with the european made stuff. The taiwan stuff are good, but I would say not really worth the money at full price. The china stuff has some things you should stay clear of. I had two retractable utility knifes that was really bad.

Lindstrom and Snap-on are re-bading some of the same items (both are top quality), but the stuff on Amazon like sockets seems to be a couple tiers below Snap On, regardless of COO. Ratchets come in limited sizes/configurations, but have good reviews (are re-badges of snap ons in the basic sizes only). The Brand is basically a frankenstein but with some really good stuff here and there if you look (saws, etc). Be warned that the really good stuff is still pretty expensive, so if its super cheap be wary...you are mostly getting waht you pay for....and it may be from china or a low-end line if domestic...so try to get the COO european as noted above.

Yep, I won't buy Bacho unless I know the coo, which is a problem as most European websites wont state it anywhere, which means time spent researching an item or just buying from a store.

The ratchet looks the same as the chinese, "bahco", branded ratchets I looked at a while back.

They will probably work just fine,

... but I left the store with some taiwan gearwrench ones instead ... just to be on the safe side ..

That's a Taiwan made set. Good sockets, the ratchet is ok but not more.

95% of all my tools are Bahco.
The ONLY problem I have had with them over many years is ...
Not locking them away as thieves stole a heap I had left out.
They at least had good taste.
