the snap on guy came by today and i was looking at a new dmm. i'm out of room in my macsimizer so i asked him to shoot a trade diiference on a new krl1023a and a krl1203b. he said $5500 and he'd throw in a eedm596ck meter. the meter was $500 so it looks like i'm getting a new toolbox!

That first link is for a KRL7023; I hope you're not getting that one unless you're a short person. I'm kind of sad to hear this because I like that MAC MB1900. :(

Beautiful set up there Krusty. I've got it's little brother the KRL722. No top box though, at least not yet! You're gonna like it.

i fixed the link. there is only 5" difference in height between the two :headscrat. i really liked the macsimizer too but the trade difference is less than i could buy a top from mac, besides we don't have a mac dealer.

The mounting screws for the side handle will be 1/4-20 thread with a 3/16 internal hex. Run the screws in by themselves with air tool oil coated on them; this will free up the powder coating they have inside the threaded inserts. Now you can screw the handle on with a 3/16 hex socket attached to a 1/4 drive extension and 1/4 drive ratchet. As tight as you can using only your wrist is just right.

That reason i was plan to ask you to why not buy mac tool's top chest to match your mac tools bottom box... so well the big issue for me to have service so i can keep have my tools and my boxes service if it need instead i had nothing unless had to deal with headquarter of Stanley.... i will not want to make all hassle over the phones about warranty or services... i am rather to have someone be here all time like my snap on always do but my snap on guy will tell me if he take vacation or have motorcycle week like dayotna in Florida...

I like mac tool box but i just prefer to have more depth drawers than too wide box... so i had snap on boxes and i am happy with it because i paid it off and i dont have to worry about it... if i need other box then i would look for used box so i can pay off instead make payment or other way...

Wait, your snap on guy took your mac box in for trade, and sold you the 3 bay roll cab, and the top box, for $5500, and threw in a meter?

That sounds like a VERY good deal to me!

Krusty, your wife will have your a$$ for spending all that dough on your tool fetish.
Now that you are feeling guilty; it's time that you spend some $ and time with that lady that has suffered with your addiction all those years...LOL

Of course you'll increase the value of the box by never bolting the side handle on; seriously, it gives the box that "unmolested" quality.

well, the snappy guy called this morning and said " they only approved you for $10,000 so you'll have to come up with $100". we had a miscommunication apparantly........when i asked for a trade difference he say's he quoted a trade in price AND he was chrging me for the meter. needless to say i was a little pissed. the matco guy came by and offered to trade me a 28" deep 6s series 3 bay top and bottom for $5155 difference. so i called the snapper and he came down to $7845 difference and no meter. i also did make contact with a mac dealer and he quoted me $4665 for a mb1910 top box. in think for the extra $500 the new matco top and bottom looks like the winner.

it's nice but it will have to be a three bay......i don't have room for it. i'm looking at the 6328r with a 6328tc. the bottom is basically the same as my mb1901 with a top chest. my choice now is between blue with red trim or basic red and chrome.

I think I'd go with the RX version in some kind of custom configuration. There are so many different ways to order a MATCO box; I'm glad I don't have to figure it out. ;)

i ordered the 6328r/6328tc combo today. standard configuration on the top chest, standard configuration on the rollaway except i chose the two shallow drawers on the top of bay 1 and 3, instead of the standard deep one's. and it's going to be traditional red and chrome.

Congrats tell your Matco guy you want the Promo deal (1k in free tools on any 6s box) but you didnt hear that from me

edit: The 6428R and 6428RX qualify for the $1500 in free tools.
