Thanks for the post. Grabbed a couple for stocking stuffers. Both our son and our daughter have new little girls (grand daughters!) so markers will be good for them.

Bruce
Bruce..... PLEASE cancel that order!

It hasn't been that long since your kids were kids that you would have forgotten but Permanent Markers are NOT appropriate for a household that has young kids.

In my opinion, they should all be banned (all colors, shapes, sizes and especially those extreme capacity or wide chisel tips [no one needs a chisel tip with a child in the house]) in any home that has a child under seven years of age living in or that visits. IF..... you had Permanent Markers in the household before the kids were born, you should have six months to use them up (all bets are off once a child can roll off their backs and grasp items) or turn them in at any local retailer that sells them. Remember, you can turn them in anonymously and the retailer MUST take them and can NOT charge you to turn them in. They can NOT resell them on the secondary market, they must be destroyed. The retailer MUST document how many markers they take in, the size, color, tip style, when and who handled it from intake to destruction of said marker.

It's sad but it only takes a second to not have those markers locked up or not under your immediate control to fall into the curious hands of young children. You know you can't put the ink back into the pen once the cap comes off. Think how bad you would feel if those markers were found by the children and something bad happened. Cancel that order, do it for the children!

Failure to heed the above decree will be punished with Grandpa taking a trip to the local paint store for a can of Kilz and finish paint!

Oh yea.... Thanks for the post Bubinga. I missed the deal, they are $7.79 now but hopefully worthy of a chuckle!

David,

I should have been clearer, the "them" is our kids and their spouses.. They are for the parents to mark id or other info on lunch boxes, etc., not for the girls.

Our daughter in particular will probably keep them under lock and key after she committed a serious graffiti offense in her bedroom when she was in early grade school. So we have been down the paint road before.

But thanks for the concern!

We should ban EVERYTHING that could hurt, harm, or cause trouble...ESPECIALLY permanent markers. Put pool noodles everywhere. Bubble wrap any hard surface. Holy Toledo batman!!!! I give up.
You might wanna reread his post again, this time with the appropriate amount of sarcasm added

Hey, these could be useful. I like Milwaukee's felt-tip pens for marking stock much better than Sharpie but these would be great for labels. In for 6 packs!

They can't ship to me at all!
Try again later Amazon pulled up with me one time and I even called them and they said there was nothing they could do it wasn't deliverable to this address a few days later it was able to be shipped a trailer hitch.
The deal is still good might want to try again later I'm surprised it's still up.
