I started this project a year ago with the idea of getting a cheap old shed off craigslist to move all my brew equipment out of the garage and into its own dedicated area. As you are about to see it turned into a much bigger beast than I ever imagined and it's still evolving today.

For starters this was my inspiration and original plan. Just a 8x10 pre made shed with just enough to get by. Something like this.

Then I caught wind that a old friend Was letting his house go and there was a 12'x16' shed on his property that was up for grabs. With that the sketches started and the walls came down.

Next was the foundation which in this case was an extension off the side of my deck.

And with the floors in place it was time to raise some walls!

Next was the roof framing. I wanted to have a nice overhang for the bar area so I dropped the height in the back and stretched the front past the front wall by 3' still left me with a 3-4 pitch and with the metal roofing going on snow accumulation hasn't been an issue.

Here you start to get a feel for the design feel for the project. I'm a fans of anything old, reclaimed or industrial. The underside of the bar awning is all pallet wood mixed with some old scrap I had laying around.

Finally I could start getting some work done on the inside. The door and window are both mis orders from a friends company and the garage door was from the original shed. All I had to do was remove two panels and I was at 42" bar height on the outside. The top is "2 thick solid Quartz that came off a Job site. This thing is heavy and don't let the brackets fool you, they are stout.

Then it was time for the itch. As you will notice a lot of what goes into this build is left over from job sites i'm a commercial Superintendent so I come accost goodies all the time. The insulation was all left over do it doesn't all match. All the gaps around the foam board were filled with spray foam. The section of the back wall will be the burner wall for my brew rig. All the walls were covered with 3/8th chip board which will make since later. 2248dc6d6bb635fcfbed78c43e173103.jpg4b19adac5001d28f4f694bc1397194a6.jpga4ff04b41d7c7aaad8c30f4c4639af38.jpg9d5e994a527eee3599acdc809639dd1f.jpg

Now for the fun stuff. For the ceiling I found some old reclaimed barn roofing. The fan in the ceiling is a 360 cfm unit from a air handler that is hooked up to 2 6" hard lines. This will give me my exhaust over the brew kettles. Eventually I'm going to build more of a hood although I've got another idea kicking around as well. The lighting is all LED and again left over from a project. 12036923844dc56afd13ad73be908bd4.jpg6710e8113cbd85cd8b8a9ccce2d6b096.jpg27f8e5c639f81669c08ded9c61ef926f.jpg
And now the reason for the plywood. Pallets! lots of old battered pallets! This part will be constantly evolving and eventually I will cover at least one entire wall if not two.

I won't bore you with the details of the equipment so the rest will just be pics. If you have any questions

My latest job site score is the sink. Right now it's just fed by water hose but it will be getting insulated lines closer to fall and it drains into a drywell under the shed.

That is awesome!

I don't blame you for not entering your location info... if everyone knew where you were, you'd have problems.

As a home brewer i am jealous. I need to look at doing this. not sure i need that much real estate though. there are a ton of people that are putting these together in 8x12 prefab sheds.

Looks great! I'm a PM for a commercial builder as well. Isn't it amazing the stuff that ends up in the dumpster? Unfortunately, you can't save it all.
