I love helping my 17 year old work on a few older vehicles but am tired of laying on my back. Decided to buy a lift. He has A 1997 and 1998 Ford Ranger plus a 2009 Dodge Caliber that will be the first car on the lift. He was given the Caliber by his grandmother. The front crossmember is rotted away and needs replacing. I have a 104" ceiling so my initial purchase was a Max Jax. Turns out that one side of the garage only has a 3 inch slab so decided on a 4-Post over a scissor. I also bought a new garage door that goes a few inches under the ceiling and also installed a jackshaft opener so I have more overhead clearance. Went with Backyard Buddy because all the steel is either American or Canadian and it's fabricated, powder coated and assembled in Ohio with mostly American parts. Took about a week to show up and was packaged well. Assembly went smoothly. Just elevated the front end on the lift by using a rolling jack tray and will start the major work tomorrow.
