Has anyone used or heard anything about Bad Dog Tools? This coming weekend, we are going to an event put on my Mother Earth News and Bad Dog Tools is one of the vendors. They have a lifetime warranty on their tools (router bits, drill bits, saw blades, etc).

I'm thinking about buying a couple of the most common sized drill bits that I use on metal (1/2", 3/8", 1/4"), but wanted to see if anyone had any experience with them. They charge $2.50 for the first bit and $1 each additional bit for return shipping if sent in for repair or sharpening. 1/2"x6" bit is $21 online.

There bits are generally made for drilling un-drillable materials such as files and hardened metals. Great for that task and do not use mine for drilling anything but extra hard materials such as stainless steel etc. Have not broken any of mine so cannot comment on there warranty.

I'm also a satisfied customer. Their warranty is also excellent. Free exchange on broken bits, but you do have to mail them in, unless there is a factory rep at a show. I tried to exchange mine at Fall Carlisle but the vendor there was a reseller, not a factory seller. The factory rep at the Woodworking Show was able to exchange bits on the spot.

They perform as advertised. Drilled a .500" hole in a 2.00" stainless rod with a half-inch hand drill. Took a while but it worked. Cutter detached from the bit as it punched through the back side. Sent it back and they replaced it and paid the shipping.

I have their nibbler. It is amazing. I cannot believe how much abuse it can take, and is still sharp. I also have the vice mount for it, which is very handy.

One word of caution the bits need high RPM so I had to buy a different drill. I think it is like 2500 RPMs minimum otherwise you can destroy the bits.
