Definitely inspiring, sometimes I admit to getting caught up in pragmatism - getting the job done with a functional solution. This post, for me, is all about personalization and that things can be functional as well as unique, bringing together other styles that you really enjoy.

Thank you for the reminder.

Thank you very much. I was never much for taking short cuts. They never worked out for me. I use this cart almost on a daily basis and there's not a thing on it I would change. I'm happy with all the storage it has and it's been a real conversation piece in the shop.

I'm waiting for the arrival of a new knee mill so I've been building some stuff for it. I'll post some pics when I get it all set up. Appreciate your kind words. Happy to know you enjoyed seeing it. Thanks!

Very cool builds :) This type of thing inspires me to take my time on projects I work on at home and not settle for shortcuts... my personality tends to want to take the shortcuts but seeing posts like this helps remind me to stay on track and do it right :)

Thanks!

Thanks Greg. We're all guilty of rushing things from time to time. I'm no exception but it is nice just to relax and enjoy a project from time to time. I do these things to enjoy and to get the benefit of use for years after there done and so far It's worked. Thanks for your kind comments. Much appreciated.

Thank you very much. Glad you enjoyed seeing it. No need to thank me for my support for our forces though. It's our duty as Canadians to back them up. I have two sons who are very proud members of the Canadian Armed Forces. just yesterday my son lost two fine members from his unit in Afghanistan. It's never easy to hear this news. Freedom comes with a cost and it's a high cost at times. For those who is serving out there believe me when I say "Your Canada's finest" and Thank you for your service.

For those who haven't seen the boat or the Jeep I'll tell you a little about both units. Having both my sons in the forces. One is Navy and the other is Army I wanted to restore something in both there honor and to also honor those who serve in our forces.

The first item I restored was a toy pedal jeep from the early 1950's and then a toy pedal boat from 1966. These units have my sons name on them along with there photo's and each time they get a promotion or go on tour it gets added to there boat or Jeep so at the end of there service each unit will be like a trophy and time line to what they accomplished. Ya I'm a proud Dad. sorry for getting of topic there guys :headscrat Oh. That was an original windshield I put on the boat. The boat is named after the HMCS Halifax. My son served on that ship for four years.

Here are some before and after pics of both units.

A question on the graphics.....after you draw them, who, where, how do you have them reproduced? Decals? Thanks for posting pictures of your very well executed projects.

When I'm doing a project I'll start to design the graphics just before I get to the paint work. I'll snap a picture of the item and draw in the approximate look I'm trying to get. I'll email them to a friend of mine who is a graphic designer and he'll do his magic and then email me back the file. I'll review the file and either add or take away from his work. after he sends me the final design I'll sign off on it and it will go to print and put on vinyl.
I went through my files and found some never before seen photo's of how I do this stuff and posted it for your entertainment. It starts off rough looking but works out OK after that. I know some don't like the design of the flames but remember. I wasn't looking for a realistic flame although I could have had it if I wanted it.
Some of the other items I air brushed on the cart. Hope this helps and thanks for the compliment and for the question.

Hey Wildfire1! Nice bad *** cart!Nice to see someone thinking out of the box.
You know it's a lot easier to criticize someones work from the comfort of there chair than actually going out there and making it happen.
I see some good ideas in your cart, forgive me if I saved some pictures.

Great job on the cart, some serious creativity.
I toured Bay Roberts with Dave and Dave Powell Jr some years ago. Got to see all their stuff.
I may race on "The Rock" again, would love to drop by.

Hmm....I might have to redo where i'm going to place my maxstar 200. I was building a spot into my rollable work/weld table (4x3) for it and a spectrum 250 (older, but a REALLY good deal) Maybe once I get a few more fab tools :)

Dave just lives up the street from me. Glad you got out this way. Next time you get over here your more than welcome to drop by. Glad you enjoyed seeing the cart. Not sure if you seen the Miller trailer or the forklift I did but here's the video as well. Thanks for posting.

Kick *** welding cart! Lousy video song...

Glad you liked the trailer but to bad you don't have good taste in music :bounce:
I used that song because of the lyrics to goes "You come out at night. That's when the energy comes".

I built the cart in the nights plus I had no plan in mind so I was "Building a Mystery"" Thanks for posting :)

I hate when my welding cart tire goes flat and I dont have a spare.....I will have to make a rack like that................my welding cart is just a harbor freight 2 shelf cart with a hole cut in the upper shelf for the tank to poke through and the welder sitson the bottom and you can throw gloves clamps and anything else on the top

Wildfire1, excellent cart, I like the bumper ,
Where did you find the clear tubes for your rod holders ?

Thanks. Glad you like the bumper. I managed to find a 1953 Newfoundland that came from a Wheaties cereal to put in there as well. Someone has to try and put Newfoundland on the map. :bounce:
You can buy tig rods in those plastic tubes. Check with your local welding supplier. Thanks for your comments.

Great job on the cart Paul!

Nice to see you around this forum....lots of good folks here.

Thank you my friend. Glad you liked the cart. Yes this is a great site with a pile of talent. Great to see you on here as well. Thanks for posting

Holy smoke. I thought all welding carts had a spare tire, bumper, fenders and dice! I didn't want to be calling Roadside assistance just for a flat so that's why I added the spare :rocker:

That HF looks like a good cart. Wish I had it here for a few days. Might be able to make a few subtle changes to it for ya :bounce:
