Hi guys,

I've noticed a quite interesting product on Bahco's site:

http://www.bahco.com/en/p/black-fin...a0-eb-2b-67-07-d7-9b-d1-65-0f-f9-dc-fd-46-39/

The opening is quite large but what draws my attention on this is the fact that it has a 15° tilted head. Quite handy in tight spots.
Anybody ever tried or used this one ? What do you think of the adjustment mechanism ?

Also, I was suspecting that it was a rebranded model from Irega (the latera adjusting wheel look very similar to Irega's model but it is not the case.

Many thanks !

It looks like that's a standard adjustable where the 15 degree spec is referring to the angle of the wrench jaw flats in relation to the handle, not the head itself being bent to a different angle than the handle.

:+1:

Hemdale,

I never knew Irega had that type of adjusting mechanism. I assume it's relatively new....within the past couple years that they introduced this model?

That mechanism reminded me of what Irimo has been producing for some time. Here's a link to an old post, but there's some relevant information there: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showpost.php?p=369741&postcount=1

When you understand that under Snap-on's umbrella, there's Bahco, Irimo, Acesa, Palmera, Irazola...all part of SNA Europe, all Spanish manufacturers, then you start to understand where this adjusting mechanism comes from.

Irega have made adjustables with that type of adjuster for some time, but they seem pretty uncommon.
I have a small one like that I picked up NOS a while back.

Thanks man, I think you got it right. An offset adjustable wrench would have been super nice though...:dunno:

I think you are 100% correct. Maybe Irega has licensed their mechanism to the other spanish manufacturers. But I can easily see where this mechanism is now coming from. Thanks for your help !

Any idea on how long Irega has been selling that model for?

In the other thread, I said it's Irimo, and that information was based on a reputable source. But it could very well be Irega or even Acesa.

A Japanese manufacturer called TOP, who's been making adjustable wrenches for over half a century has offered a tilt head/offset head design for some time now. It is a slim-jaw design though.
