Katharine Hepburn had a really long acting career. Later in her career played a lot of old ladies. One of those roles was in the film 'On Golden Pond' where her character has a lot of head bobbing and hand movement.

She had 'tremors' which I'm sure has a different name now, similar symptoms but not the same thing as Parkinson's. But a lot of people associate the tremors with the role.

I don't really know why she'd be in a helicopter, she'd be vibrating at least a little on the ground too.

As far as the original topic, I have a HF buffer like the one OP pictured. I know he pictured it nearly a decade ago, and that it isn't the exact one he's dealing with. It's a way better motor than any HF grinder I've ever used, or any similar new one.

If you're still reading I hope you fixed the vibration by now. However my solution for balancing wire wheels is a bit more fun than anything so far; mark it, clock it all that fun stuff then tack weld steel scraps to the rim and grind them down as needed to balance it. 10-20 mins problem solved.

I ordered a Osborn (USA) 8" Crimped wire .0118" medium duty wheel just last month. Also bought the adapter hubs (Zoro) to fit my shaft.

Runs ultra smooth. I think your best bet is to pony up for a nicer model, tighter mfg tolerances will likely result is a truer wheel.

Brands to look for: Walter, Osborn, Pferd, Brush Research

Avoid: Weiler, Forney, big box store brands...
