I bought a 10" Baldor bench grinder yesterday. It was sitting out in the rain for the last 20 years so taking it apart was a bit challenging. Anyway I finally got it apart to replace the bearings. They are 6206 C3. Nice big conrad style bearings but the C3 clearance bothers me. Especially since this grinder is supposed to be one of the quietest on the market. Can anyone tell me if this is the correct bearing. I'm Thinking of replacing them with standard clearance. I just can't see why a grinder bearing needs extra clearance. By the way, I paid $100 for those who care.

C3 is correct and is basically the most common clearance used. Been using shielded SKF E2 energy efficient bearings but hey are very expensive; they run cooler/less vibration and use less juice.
$100, a very good buy for a 10", you might want to replace the capacitor also.
If replacing with the same type, search on Ebay for open bearing

Yes on C3. I haven't used SKF E2's but you may want to also look at Nachi 6206 bearings, They're really nice and I've been impressed with them in my rebuilds. Super smooth

OK thanks guys. I ordered a pair. I finally got the last screw out just now. I had to heat cycle every single fastener. No exceptions. Getting the wheels off was a major struggle but I finally got them off and they still ring. Capacitor checks good as well. Now to get the white paint off. Even the stones are painted white. The good news is that it works and there are no missing pieces.
