Baldor grinder shims

Hey everyone,

I'm replacing the bearings on an older Baldor 812RE 8" grinder and there are some thin metal shims/spacers/washers between the bearings, the spring washers, and the felt washers. There are five of these shims on the left side and three on the right. Does this seem correct, or should there be four on each side? This grinder has been apart before, so I don't want to assume it was put back together properly. I've attached a few pics.

Thanks.

They were likely to set the pre-load on the bearings. I would leave them as found. They probably set it for each case as the all have some casting and machining variation.
