Baldor Grinder

Hey guys I was hoping for some help identifying this particular Baldor Grinder. I’m stuck with this one picture and have heard they make great stuff. As always, thanks for any input. Cheers

Unfortunately that picture gives no idea of scale or wheel size. Even the angle is ambiguous, making it hard to judge the wheel size and work back to a horsepower rating.

For the purposes of bidding or making an offer I would assume it is a 1/3HP grinder with a 6” wheel. The badge is an older style, and while it appears complete there is no image of the tool rests to confirm. Could be a good deal, but a clear badge picture would do wonders in this case.

The smaller Baldors usually used only 2 bolts to hold it together, yet this one has 4 bolts. The base only has 2 mounting holes at the sides. I'd guess it's at least 1/2hp with 7-inch wheels, such as a Model 7306/7306D/7307 etc

I also have a Baldor grinder mounted to a matching pedastal.......unfortunately this grinder is 3 phase.

Cool little Baldor grinder

Picked this up last night on Craiglist for $20. It is 1/4hp. I'd like to find out how old it is. Anybody know?

I have a Baldor grinder likely the same model era, the one pictured could be a 1/3 to 3/4 hp; power cord looks awfully thin for anything but 1/3hp. You need to ask for more info. For your info, at minium you should get is 1/2hp, with tool rests. If purchased motor will need internal cleaning, bearing cleaned and greased ( open bearings), and possible new run capacitor, likely new wheels; that said, in the era of manufacture these motors produced true rated horse power not "wannabe" hp. Very heavy for a grinder if shipped

Those older Baldors were built to last with routine maintenance.
