Baldor Pedestal

Yesterday I was assisting a friend load some pallet racks he recently purchased. We stopped on the side of the road to adjust the ratchet straps for the haul and I noticed a grinder on a pedestal on the corner of a fenced lot with a for sale sign on it. I noticed the pedestal stand with the name Baldor but could not see the name on the grinder. There were several other items that this person was selling as well so I called the number on the sign. The seller met us up there and I bought the grinder and pedestal for $20.00. Upon loading everything in the truck I examined the grinder and it was an 8" Wissota. Drove back home to plug the grinder up and unfortunately it did not work. However, I did get a deal on the pedestal. Looking for information online has not been that successful so I come here to see if any fellow members have any info on the pedestal. I have not even been able to locate an image online of one similar to this Baldor pedestal. The image is below and I would appreciate any help. Thanks!

Thanks for the help. There are no holes on the side but there is one 1" hole on the back of the pedestal.

That is the stand in the photo you posted. Awesome! Now I need to locate a Baldor grinder to go on top of it. Thanks!

Nice stand. Those are hard to find. Lets see a picture of the grinder.

Only pic of the grinder I have. As you can see he wanted $45.00 for it all. He said the grinder worked but had no place to plug it in. I told him I would give him $20.00 dollars for everything and he would not have to prove the grinder was functional. He took it...The grinder is now in my friends shop to see if he can get it operational.

There is a grinder just like that at my work, it is a good machine. Hopefully you can get it operational again.

That is a good HD pedestal.

Hope you get it running. It looks like a nice size unit for that stand. Nice size 110 grinder/buffers are hard to find. If its a slow rpm it's a keeper.

Great find! If it has holes on the side, they are for the dust collection option...

That's not a Baldor dust collector. It's a 1960s vintage Rockwell-Delta No. 1292 dust collector attached to a No. 23-805 Rockwell-Delta pedestal with a Baldor grinder mounted on it.

Baldor accessory dust collectors look like this:

The lighted eye shields are also not Baldor. They're '60s to '80s vintage Rockwell-Delta "Twin-Lites."

No criticism intended, just identifying the parts. There's nothing wrong with the mixing and matching of parts like that. Those particular old Rockwell-Delta parts are every bit as good as the Baldor alternatives.
