Bales 150 Mechanics Bench Vise

Hi all,

I saw this vise for sale in an upcoming auction and I can't figure out its provenance. It appears to be "Bales" brand? If anyone has any idea about this I would great appreciate your insight! Although the title of this post is "Bales 150" it actually says "Bales 140" I wasn't able to edit the post topic.

That is a Babco vise.
They had an office in Oakland CA and the vises were labeled Oakland CA but most if not all of their production was Asian.

So does the Bales 140 name mean it has 4" jaws ??

Looks to be in pretty good shape, ready to be restored. Hope you get it OP.

A pretty nice one sold on eBay for $40
If you just want a user vise, try to keep the price below $25 assuming the screw winds in and out smoothly and there are no cracks or repairs.
