Anyone ever look into or performed a conversion on their old cheapo tool cabinets from friction slides to ball bearing slides?
When I was younger and just wanted mass storage I bought a bunch of Craftsman cabinets with friction slides. They irritate me today, primarily because I have so much stuffed in them that they are tough to slide. I looked at some of my newer Ball Bearing cabinets and it seems that the sheet metal drawers and retainers inside are stamped the same and that only the slide requires changing.
So where can I find drop-in replacement ball bearing slides to replace the friction slides in my tool cabinets?
Thanks,
KMR
