I found that Bondhus makes these and they could be useful sometimes. Was about to order a set and though there are lots of positive reviews of Bondhus in general and of these particular drivers I also found many reviews saying that the tips have sheared off. It could be (probably) is that the shape inherently can't take a whole lot of off center torque.

I was trying to find another brand for comparison but nothing but the Bondhus comes up on searches. Does anyone know if these are available from any other manufacturers?

I don't have an answer to you're question but I'm surprised a ball end driver is made for these at all.
I thought the whole point of using them is so the screw can stay on the end of the driver while driving them into straight access horizontal positions, like electric wall sockets for example. A ball end would mean the screw would fall off.

I'd say Bondhus make the best ball end hex drivers so they would be top of the list for square ones too.

They also make ball-end Torx.

Both ball-end Robertson/square and Torx/star kinda seems to defeat the purpose of those fastener styles...

I find these invaluable.
Unfortunately, they do wear out more quickly than a regular screwdriver.
Haven't found another brand yet.

Yes, the screw will fall off. But the other reason for square drive is to prevent cam out at high torque. I prefer Torx to square now (woodworking) because it handles the torque well and doesn't slip, but also doesn't end up with the driver bit stuck in the screw head like happens sometimes with square. Yes, the ball end defeats that too.

But both ball end torx and ball end square would allow easier access when the screw is in a position tight to a wall or in a pocket hole or the like. I have a ball end torx already and I think a ball end square would be useful sometimes for access.
