Looked high and low for a jack appropriate for checking ball joints in a hurry.
Bought this Harbor Freight Racing Jack, modified it by taking off the side handle.
Used it 3x on a slow Saturday for nothing but checking ball joints. It works, it's fast, and it's easy to position where it'll lift ball joints with out a lot of fooling around. We hadn't been checking many ball joints because we didn't have a jack that would lift in the right spot without fighting the jack.
Now, you have to remember that this jack is inherently unstable because of it's design and I would not trust it for things I would trust another jack for, but for it's intended purpose it fills it very well and will do an excellent job. It is a very tippy jack.
