are adapter kits generally interchangeable between brands, or does everyone kind of do it differently?

i know the snap-on BJP1 and the OTC CA6630 sets both have cups and plates and sleeves and such that have proprietary connecting systems, but what about other generic presses like astro pneumatic, maddox, oemtools, etc.?

I'm not a pro so take it for what it's worth but I've used all sorts of things and interchanged parts from different kits. Sockets, pieces of pipe, old bearings basically whatever fits. I returned a HF adapter kit after breaking one of the pieces first use. I bought another set forget brand may be OTC but it worked fine last time I needed it.

I have an older Astro Pneumatic adapter set that works perfect with my cheaper OTC press....

I know a few guys that bought the Harbor Freight add-on adapters to use with various kits.
i've heard of people using the HF kits for their ball joint presses as well, that was sort of why i posed the question. i grabbed the goliath XL c-frame with intent to get the rest of the astro kit, but then i ended up getting the snap-on, so now i have the XL c-frame and nothing to use it with.
Pretty much, yes. Usually
much appreciated!
