Ball Joint Press Tool Question

I'm looking into getting a Ball Joint Press Tool. So far I've seen ppl voted for Snap-On. Just thinking of there are a cheaper alternative. I know OTC have 80+ adapters. Anybody try Astro Pneumatic?

I've beat on my Astro ball joint press for over 10 yrs now. Impact gun, cheater bars, hammering on the end of it. Car to Dana 60 ball joints. I bought the HF extra adapter kit and they work well together.

Reason why I asked because my coworker have the Astro ball joint bent the c-frame and had only own it for a year. The opening of the C-Frame is wider/further apart and have a hard time centering the screw to ball joint as it slips off from time to time.

OTC fore sure. I own the 8031 and it's incredible with a ton of adapters. The 8031 comes with the larger press. The only thing I like better about the bjp1 is that it can be put in a vise.

This is the same setup that I have. Bought a used OTC press and the kit from HF and am into it for less then 120.00.

BJP1 no doubt in my mind! used it 5 times and its just badass.... its on my want to buy list

I just used my HF press to change the steering bellcrank shaft on a Jeep CJ2A. I used a 3/8 drive 13/16" deep socket to push the shaft out of the bracket with the screw and one of the included adapters for support.

I've used this unit on a number of things over the years and it hasn't let me down yet. I've even run the screw with my IR 1/2" drive impact wrench.
