I purchased an old rusty ball peen with a broken handle at a thrift store, cleaned it up, and rehung it. I can make out stamped markings that appear to say “3 S”. Can anyone identify it?
Looks like the mark on the left was supposed to be an S as well, but didn’t stamp all the way. Probably owner initials, though fancy for letter punches.
I think I may have found a _possible_ answer. While reading about the Collins Axe company on yesteryearstools.com, I discovered that Collins had product line stamped “B x S” for B. X Swift from 1877-1953, stamped with a prominent B and S.
